Lukasz Fabianski became the first summer signing in May 2014 after he joined on a free transfer from Arsenal. The Polish international signed a four-year deal with the club to become Garry Monk’s first signing since taking over officially as manager. Fabianski ended a seven-year spell with Arsenal, having played his last game in the FA Cup final win over Hull City at Wembley. In his debut season, Fabianski impressed the fans at the Liberty as he featured in 37 Premier League games for the club, missing just one game due to suspension. The Pole kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League, and was duly awarded with the Players’ Player of the Year, Best Newcomer and Away Player of the Year at the team’s end of season awards event.
